{"id":133,"date":"2020-05-17T12:46:06","date_gmt":"2020-05-17T12:46:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/justcruisin4wdtours.com.au\/?page_id=133"},"modified":"2025-09-03T07:33:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T07:33:08","slug":"5-day-tour-northern-flinders-ranges","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/justcruisin4wdtours.com.au\/?page_id=133","title":{"rendered":"5 day Flinders Ranges\/Arkaroola Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 day Flinders Ranges\/Arkaroola Tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 1:&nbsp;<\/strong>Depart Adelaide at approximately 7:00am for our&nbsp;Aboriginal cultural experience in the Northern Flinders Ranges &#8211; one of Australia\u2019s most beautiful and rugged areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our first stop is Port Augusta, where we explore the Flinders Ranges and Outback and visit Wadlata Outback Centre\u2019s Tunnel of Time (optional tour) where we discover its origins, the Aboriginal Dreaming, European settlement and much more. After morning tea we head towards Wilpena Pound via Quorn and Hawker. From Hawker we visit Kanyaka ruins. Its then on to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilpenapound.com.au\/\">Wilpena Resort<\/a> for our first night in the Flinders Ranges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 2:&nbsp;<\/strong>Today\nwe head to&nbsp;Arkaroola via Brachina Gorge. This Gorge traces the geological history\nof the Flinders Ranges for hundreds of\nmillion years. We can then visit Parachilna\u2019s Prairie Hotel for some\nAussie tucker (<em>optional<\/em>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After morning tea we head to&nbsp;Iga Warta, where we spend some time learning\nabout the Adnymathanha culture and environment. Today we can also participate in&nbsp;a bush tucker walk\nand\/or an Aboriginal art walk. This evening, after dinner, we spend some time sitting around a campfire\nsampling traditional damper with quandong jam, and listening to stories and music of the Adnyamathanha People.&nbsp;Overnight we stay at Iga Warta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 3:&nbsp;<\/strong>After\nbreakfast we head to&nbsp;Arkaroola. We visit the nearby Yudnamutana Gorge &#8211; one of Australia\u2019s deepest\ngorges. We also visit Stubbs Waterhole &#8211; an expanse of still water in a\ndelightful setting, reflecting the green foliage of gum trees and the blue the\nsky. The waterhole is set deep between towering steeply tilted layers of rock\nformed from the debris dropped by melting icebergs around 700 million years ago.&nbsp;Overnight&nbsp;we\nstay at Arkaroola\nWilderness Sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 4:&nbsp;<\/strong>After\nbreakfast we head out to The Pinnacles, Bolla Bollanna Smelter,\nNooldoonooldoona Waterhole and Wheel Turner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two optional tours available\ntoday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>take an exhilarating Ridgetop Tourto\nthe top of Sillers Lookout. The view after the bone jarring 4WD trip is fantastic and makes you\nthink you are on top of the world. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>take a scenic flight over these majestic mountains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: Both of these tours are at your own expense.<\/em> Overnight Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 5:&nbsp;<\/strong>Depart\nArkaroola for Adelaide via&nbsp;<em>Blinman<\/em>.&nbsp;After\nlunch at Wilpena Resort we head to Quorn, driving through Buckaringa Gorge and\nWarren Gorge (<em>time permitting<\/em>). We\nenjoy some afternoon tea at Melrose and then it\u2019s on to Adelaide.
