{"id":131,"date":"2020-05-17T12:44:36","date_gmt":"2020-05-17T12:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/justcruisin4wdtours.com.au\/?page_id=131"},"modified":"2025-09-03T07:34:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T07:34:33","slug":"4-day-flinders-ranges-arkaroola","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/justcruisin4wdtours.com.au\/?page_id=131","title":{"rendered":"4 day Flinders Range\/Arkaroola Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4 day Flinders Ranges\/Arkaroola Tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ITINERARY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 1:&nbsp;<\/strong>Depart\nAdelaide at approximately 7:00am for our&nbsp;Aboriginal cultural experience&nbsp;in\nthe&nbsp;Northern\nFlinders Ranges, one of\nAustralia\u2019s most beautiful and rugged areas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our first stop is Port Augusta, where we explore the Flinders Ranges and Outback and take an <em>optional tour<\/em> at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wadlata.sa.gov.au\/\">Wadlata Outback Centre<\/a>\u2019s Tunnel of Time where we discover its origins, the Aboriginal Dreaming, European settlement and much more. After morning tea we head towards&nbsp;Wilpena Pound&nbsp;via Quorn and Hawker. From Hawker we visit&nbsp;Kanyaka ruins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its then on to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilpenapound.com.au\/?utm_medium=paidsearch&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_campaign=wp-seasonalcampaign&amp;utm_content=aq&amp;utm_term=230419-wp-seasonalcampaign&amp;gad_source=1\">Wilpena Resort&nbsp;<\/a>for our first night in the Flinders Ranges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 2:<\/strong>&nbsp;Today we head to&nbsp;Arkaroola via\nBrachina Gorge. This Gorge traces the geological history of the Flinders Ranges for hundreds of million years. We can then visit\nParachilna\u2019s Prairie Hotel for some Aussie tucker (<em>optional<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After morning tea we head to&nbsp;Iga Warta, where we spend some time learning\nabout the Adnymathanha culture and environment. Today we can also participate in&nbsp;a bush tucker walk\nand\/or an Aboriginal art walk. This evening, after dinner, we spend some time sitting around a campfire\nsampling traditional damper with quandong jam, and listening to stories and music of the Adnyamathanha People.&nbsp;Overnight we stay at Iga Warta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 3:<\/strong>&nbsp;After breakfast we head to&nbsp;Arkaroola. We visit the nearby Yudnamutana Gorge &#8211; one of Australia\u2019s deepest gorges. We also visit Stubbs Waterhole &#8211; an expanse of still water in a delightful setting, reflecting the green foliage of gum trees and the blue the sky. The waterhole is set deep between towering steeply tilted layers of rock formed from the debris dropped by melting icebergs around 700 million years ago.&nbsp;Overnight&nbsp;we stay at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arkaroola.com.au\/\">Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DAY 4:<\/strong>&nbsp;We depart Arkaroola for Adelaide via Blinman. After lunch at&nbsp;Wilpena Resort&nbsp;we head to Quorn, driving through Buckaringa Gorge and Warren Gorge (time permitting). We enjoy some afternoon tea at Melrose and then it\u2019s on to Adelaide.
